Kristene Unsworth

Director, Center for Science, Technology and Society, Drexel University

Kristene Unsworth is an assistant teaching professor in the Department of Criminology and Justice Studies at Drexel University. She is also the Director of Drexel’s Center for Science, Technology & Society. She received her PHD in Information Science from the University of Washington in 2010. Her research centers on information justice, which includes the ethics of data access and use as well as policy development that addresses the equitable use of information across society. She was co-Principle Investigator for a National Science Foundation research project on the Ethics of Algorithms [NSF EESE1338205], which included case study design for ethics education in computer science and engineering. Currently, she is collaborating in the development of a curriculum for the Justice Informatics program that focuses on the intersections between information technology, people and justice.
